Pasadena, Texas. PetroChem Inspection Services, a subsidiary of TÜV SÜD America Inc., is pleased to announce that it has expanded its Advanced Inspection Service capabilities by adding Teletest Focus® and Guided Ultrasonics G3® to their line of services. The technology allows for the testing of piping in limited and non-accessible locations with substantial cost-effective results.
As a specialist in advanced technology, PetroChem was the first U.S.-based service provider for Guided Wave Ultrasonics and is a leading provider of advanced Non-destructive Testing (NDT) services such as Tube Testing (ECT, RFT, IRIS), Real Time Radiography (RTR), Computerized Radiography, Phased Array Ultrasonics, and Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM).
To keep on the cutting edge of technology, the company has made significant investments into the development and testing of new advanced inspection technologies. Their Advanced Inspection Services Division has a dedicated staff tasked with developing specialized techniques, which are then applied in the field and used commercially.
"The role of technology is ever-changing. That's why we've invested in research, equipment, hired experts, and developed our advanced inspection capabilities and launched this new division," explains Richard Cook, Vice President of Operations at PetroChem. "Being able to identify and develop new techniques is now part of PetroChem's strategic approach in advancing and leveraging its own inspection services into the market."
